  1. Thank you for the artist’s point of view on the adfraud problem. The advertising intermediaries have no incentive to fix it because they get paid on both fraudulent and non-fraudulent ads.

    And the advertisers have no incentive to fix it because the presence of fraud drives down ad prices in the whole medium. The total burden of fraud falls on legit sites that must compete with fraudulent ones, and on the copyright holders whose work appears on Ad-Supported Piracy sites.

    Webmasters can help inform, nudge, and reward their readers to install tracking protection.
